To start the charter tour business in Pattaya, we have an agreement in the works with the Thai Authority of Tourism, (T.A.T.) which will generate most of the passenger bookings for a daily 3 hr. sunset cruise, @ $25 per person.

These tour packages will be further distributed and advertised to agencies worldwide. This charter tour package is in the T.A.T.'s own best interest as it will provide the agency and the government of Thailand a revenue stream of 10% of gross passenger ticket sales.

Pattaya has 1 million tourists a year and it is a close location to Bangkok, which is ideal. A high-speed train will be available in 2 years, making it possible to go from Bangkok to Pattaya in 15 minutes. As of now there are many flights available to the new Pattaya airport. Pattaya with its unique nightlife and shopping would make this site a number one contender.

These tours are located in the Gulf of Thailand, the best for sailing in the world, steady 20 knot winds and constant calm waters so tours are almost never canceled.

Due to seas conditions and the dry season this is prospected 4, 10 months out of the year so projections are made with maintance and haulout for 2 months out of the year during the rainy season these prices are on the high end but in the last 2 years tourism has increased 15% and property values haves have tripled.

1) The main question on this proposal is why are not more charters available? Answer as of up to now Oct 1, 2003 60% of value of boat duties had to be paid on bringing a boat into Thailand. This has since been eliminated to compete with Malaysia.

Dollar estimates are based on Chinese and Malaysia Junk Vessels only for the simple fact conventional sailing charters make little or no money. Customers want a unique experience of the kind of craft and culture. The Northern region of the Gulf of Thailand, Pattaya is equal in beauty, has 100 times more business and no unique Malaysian or Chinese Junks. This also is true of the major inner outer islands Ko Samui which has a new airport, and at this time is building 5 marinas. The neighboring island of Pha Ngan known for a European destination and full moon parties. At the time of this report, Oct.1, 2003, on both of these islands I found only 2 charter boats. 1 fully booked for the next year and the other a shuttle more or less.

Phuket island with Phuket town and Patong and Xata beach even having its share of unique Chinese junks cannot be ruled out. For at this time 10 new major hotels are under construction 3 36 hole golf courses and 5 new marina service and dock facilities are under construction along with renovation of 6 major hotels.
